Hey, I’m Maya — co-founder of Nice Time Pilates and a newer teacher who’s mildly obsessed with Pilates (in a normal way). I’ve completed my mat and reformer certifications and I’m currently working toward comprehensive training.
I herniated three discs in my lumbar spine, found Pilates, and it helped me feel strong and like myself again. When I keep up with it, I feel great. When I don’t… my body reminds me.
My classes aren’t about chasing the burn or proving anything. We’re here for smart, technique-forward movement: strong core, supported spine, better posture, and that “ohhh my body likes this” feeling. Keeping things welcoming, inclusive, and not intimidating really matters to me.
Expect feel-good flows, clear options, and a supportive vibe with zero weird pressure. The goal is simple: you leave feeling better than when you came in. Maybe even a little taller.

I’ve been teaching movement since 2009, back when yoga pants were still finding their way into everyday wardrobes. Yoga was my first love, and over the years my curiosity about how bodies move has naturally expanded into Garuda, True Movement Method, and Pilates. I’m drawn to movement that feels balanced, intelligent, and actually useful in real life.
I’m a wife and a mom to two incredible daughters who are everything to me. They keep me grounded and constantly remind me why staying strong, mobile, and connected to our bodies matters. I love moving my body, feeling good in my body, and supporting practices that are holistic, sustainable, and supportive as we age.
Opening a studio was always a quiet dream of mine. Somehow, unexpectedly, all the pieces fell into place and here I am. My goal is to help people move better, feel better, and leave class feeling more at home in their bodies.

I’m a co-owner of Nice Time Pilates and a co-founder of Canadian Pilates Certification (CPC). I bring a deep respect for movement, education, and thoughtful study into both my teaching and leadership.
My path into Pilates began through my own experience with back pain, which led me to seek a practice rooted in precision, awareness, and connection. With 20 years of teaching experience, a personal practice spanning more than 25 years, and a lifelong involvement in sport and physical activity, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for intelligent, embodied learning and intentional movement.
I’m a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher across all apparatus and mat, and my education includes 200- and 300-hour yoga teacher trainings, certifications through Balanced Body and Garuda, and ongoing professional development through workshops and advanced trainings.
As both a teacher and teacher-trainer, I’ve worked with a wide range of bodies and movement backgrounds. This experience allows me to adapt classes thoughtfully while maintaining clarity and purpose. In my classes, you can expect whole-body integration and mindful movement, with a strong focus on alignment and understanding why each movement matters.
My classes are engaging and specific, designed to help you feel the work more deeply and create a practice that’s safe, connected, challenging, and ultimately feel-good.
